Dear Newcomers and Neighbors Club Member,

We know that as a member of the Newcomers and Neighbors Club, you have lots of Club activities to keep you busy. However, we'd also like to introduce you to the many differing opportunities for fun and recreation in Reno, Sparks and the rest of Northern Nevada. 

To make this possible, below are links with information about myriad events, festivals, and activities available throughout the year.

Reno Events Center Hosting various events and concerts throughout the year.

Reno Sparks Livestock Events Center  Home to manyprestigious equine and rodeo events, including the nationally televised Reno Rodeo The RSLEC is a favorite venue for youth and collegiate sporting competitions, motocross and national monster truck events.

Reno Sparks Convention Center  Check out all the various events happening throughout the year from sports tournaments to art show, comicon and RV show. 

All Events in Reno There are countless events you’ll enjoy in Reno from genres like comedy, art, food to festivals, you can find your pick and soak in the culture and entertainment scene.

Virginia City The historic mining town of Virginia City, Nevada, is welcoming visitors both near and far as one of their own.  Come stroll the wooden sidewalks. Take in the living history of the once-booming mining town. And explore our museums, attractions and tours. 

North Tahoe Arts  We invite the public to view and participate in the arts through exhibits, workshops, camps, and special events that take place at our Tahoe City Artisan shop and (soon to be) new Kings Beach Art Center opening June 17, 2022.

Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts Home to the Reno Phil and Broadway Comes to Reno plus many other wonderful events.  

Reno Philharmonic  The Reno Phil performs  more than 30 concerts annually throughout the Reno, Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe region. They have something for all tastes from Classical to Pop.

Reno Pops Orchestra Provide free and low cost concerts in Northern Nevada and Northeastern California to as wide an audience as possible, including family and children’s concerts.

High Desert Harmony Chorus As an affiliate of Sweet Adelines International. High Desert Harmony is an extraordinary group of women who gather together in celebration of the art form known as barbershop music.

Reno River Wine Walk Every third Saturday of the month from 2pm to 5pm, the Riverwalk Merchants host the popular Wine Walk along the Truckee River and neighboring streets.

Nevada Museum of Art  We are a museum of ideas, offering meaningful art and cultural experiences in the visual arts by encouraging interdisciplinary investigation. 

The Discovery A hands-on science center offering exhibitions and programs for learners of all ages.

Sparks Heritage Museum Preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Sparks and the Truckee Meadows for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations   

Hot August Nights Celebrating Classic Cars and Rock ‘N Roll. Takes Place the first week in August,there are an abundance of activities at different venues throughout the area. 

Rib Cookoff  Enjoy some of the best BBQ at the 2023 Best in the West Nugget Rib-Cook Off.

Street Vibrations A celebration of music, metal and motorcycles, offering poker runs, live entertainment, ride-in shows, stunt and bike shows and more to more than 35,000 riding enthusiasts in late September.

Burning Man A network of peoplel united in the  pursuit of a more creaative and connected existence in the world. Burners gather to build Black Rock City east of Reno during the last week of August. 

The Great Reno Balloon Race The world’s largest free hot-air ballooning event, held during four days in early September.
